Volunteering

Parent Volunteers

Parent volunteers play a vital role in student learning at MPS and are always welcome.

Believe Achieve Succeed -In the future....

Please contact the school (613-269-4951) and inform us of the areas where you feel that you could be of assistance. Examples of activities that volunteers typically provide support include: reading to/with students; occasional head-lice checks; field trip chaperones; occasional hot lunch preparation; and our healthy snack/lunch program.

All volunteers must have a Criminal Reference Check (CRC) with Vulnerable Sector Screening.

The OPP has recently changed both the forms and the process. To apply for a Criminal Reference Check please request a letter of intent to volunteer from the school.  You will then apply online.

If you have a recent check already on file with us you will need to come to the office and complete an "Offence Declaration" each year. Failure to do so will require a new CRC to be completed.  Please note that this process is in place to protect all of our students.

Please note it is advisable to apply for this check each September or early in the school year as the process time at the OPP can take up to two to three weeks. If you do not have a check on file at the time of event you will not be able to volunteer.
