Volunteering

Parent Volunteers

Parent volunteers play a vital role in student learning at MPS and are always welcome. Given the current Covid19 restrictions we are unable to accept volunteers or allow access to the school by any parents/guardians.  We look forward to the time when we can welcome our parents and volunteers back into our building.  Thank you for your patience.

Believe Achieve Succeed -In the future....

Please contact the school (613-269-4951) and inform us of the areas where you feel that you could be of assistance. Examples of activities that volunteers typically provide support include: reading to/with students; occasional head-lice checks; field trip chaperones; occasional hot lunch preparation; and our healthy snack/lunch program.

All volunteers must have a Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening. The OPP has recently changed both the forms and the process. To apply for a Criminal Reference Check please visit the school and Mrs. More will assist you in the process. If you have a recent check already on file with us you will need to come in to the office and complete an "Offence Declaration" once each year. Please note that this process is in place to protect all of our students.

Please note it is advisable to apply for this check early in the school year - process time at the OPP can take up to two to three weeks. If you do not have a check on file at the time of event you will not be able to volunteer.
